Output of the national economy decreased in September

Seasonally adjusted output decreased by 2.1 per cent from the month before. Adjusted for working days, output fell by 11.6 per cent from September 2008. The data derive from Statistics Finland's Trend Indicator of Output. The data are preliminary and will become revised later.

According to revised data, output adjusted for working days fell in August by 8.2 per cent (previously -8.4%) and the original series by 8.4 per cent (previously -8.7%) from August 2008. The revision was mainly due to an upward revision of the source data on service industries.
