Expressed in tonne-kilometres, the volume diminished by 25 per cent. These data derive from the statistics on domestic goods transport by road compiled by Statistics Finland. A total of 79 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries during the April to June period of 2009. Transported volume of goods refers to the weight of goods loaded on lorries in tonnes. Tonne-kilometre describes the volume of transport and is obtained as a product of transported volume of goods and length of transport journey.
