Election map service

See in which part of the country each candidate gained most votes or where voters were most active. Just make your selections and view them with this handy map application. You can also have a look at the results of the earlier elections in 1999 with this election map application, free of charge.

In case you want to have election maps as publishable map presentations that can be printed and stored, you can obtain a user code subject to a charge. With the user code you can get maps as Adobe Acrobat (PDF) and Post Script (PS) files that are transferable to your system. Our information service is also available as conventional hardcopies and transparencies.

Thematic maps and statistical tables are browsable on the following subjects:

First round

• Votes cast for candidates, candidates with most votes
• Comparison of votes cast for candidates in 2000 and 1994
• Votes cast for candidates compared to votes cast for parties in Parliamentary elections 1999
• Voting turnout and change in voting turnout compared with the Presidential elections 1994

Second round

• Votes cast for candidates, candidates with most votes
• Change of votes cast for candidates (compared with the first round)
• Voting turnout and change in voting turnout (compared with the first round)

Publishable maps

The thematic maps of the election map service can be browsed by everybody. In addition to this, all thematic maps of the election application can be converted into publishable PostScript (PS) or Abode Acrobat (PDF) printouts. The election map application makes the conversion and the map set-up automatically. Pictures of candidates are available in the printouts on votes cast for candidates in the whole country. Printouts are obtainable in Finnish, Swedish and English.

The price of the user code for one user is FIM 2,800 (+VAT 22%) and it will give you unlimited access to transferring and printing PDF and PS printout files in both election rounds.

Statistical tables

In addition to maps, printouts can also be viewed as statistical tables that you can transfer free of charge to your system as ASCII files.

In three languages

In addition to Finnish, the election maps and statistical tables can be viewed in Swedish and English. The PS and PDF printouts are also available in three languages.
