Nights spent by British visitors were up by as much as 39.5 per cent from the year before, and with their 67,600 overnightings they made up the biggest foreign visitor group. Russian visitors made up the second biggest group with 59,000 overnightings, which amounted to a 31 per cent increase from the year before. The overnight stays of German, Norwegian and Italian visitors also increased, by one-fifth from February 2007. The number of nights spent by French visitors grew the least, even though they did spend 4 per cent more nights in Finland than one year previously.
