Building costs rose by 3.6 per cent in twelve months

Building costs rose by 3.6 per cent from September 2007 to September 2008. Labour costs in construction went up by 4.5 per cent, prices of materials by 2.8 per cent and those of other inputs by 4.5 per cent year-on-year. This is indicated by the building cost index of Statistics Finland.

From August to September 2008, the total index of building costs went down by 0.1 per cent. The prices for labour and the prices of those for other inputs went up by 0.1 per cent. The prices of materials went down by 0.3 per cent.
