Road traffic accidents claimed 14 lives in June 2022

According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 319 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in June 2022. In them, 14 persons were killed and 396 persons injured. The number of persons killed was one lower and that of persons injured 53 lower than in June 2021. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

A total of 1,301 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to June period of 2022. In them, 75 persons were killed and 1,651 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 12 lower and that of persons injured 81 higher than in the corresponding period of 2021. Of the persons who were killed, 58 travelled by passenger car, four by motorcycle and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered eight and cyclists three. In addition, one other road user was killed.
