Road traffic accidents claimed 15 lives in September 2022
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 304 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in September 2022. In them, 15 persons were killed and 343 persons injured. The number of persons killed was the same and that of persons injured 50 lower than in September 2021. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to September
A total of 2,362 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to September period of 2022. In them, 144 persons were killed and 2,918 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 10 lower and that of persons injured 38 higher than in the corresponding period of 2021. Of the persons who were killed, 87 travelled by passenger car, one by moped, 20 by motorcycle and two by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 16 and cyclists 15. In addition, three other road users were killed.
