Road traffic accidents claimed 11 lives in October 2022
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 226 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in October 2022. In them, 11 persons were killed and 272 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 10 lower and that of persons injured 53 lower than in October 2021. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to October
A total of 2,593 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to October period of 2022. In them, 156 persons were killed and 3,190 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 21 lower and that of persons injured 26 lower than in the corresponding period of 2021. Of the persons who were killed, 96 travelled by passenger car, one by van, one by moped, 21 by motorcycle and two by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 17 and cyclists 15. In addition, three other road users were killed.
