Statistics Finland is Finland's national statistical institute that produces impartial statistics on Finnish society. Our task is to process data accumulated from various data sources into statistics to support decision-making and for the use of citizens, researchers and others needing data.
The Finland in Figures 2026 publication collects together the key statistics on Finnish society and highlights one central change: ageing of the population. At the end of 2025, as many as 24 per cent of Finns were aged 65 or over.
The structure of px files in statistical databases will change on 8 June 2026. In order for queries made via the API interface to function after the change, they need to be adjusted. Instructions for the necessary changes have now been published.
The publications of national accounts are collected under one set of statistics in the spring when the statistics on quarterly and annual national accounts are combined together. This will make it easier to find and understand data, although the contents remain unchanged.
