Road traffic accidents claimed 21 lives in November 2022

According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 227 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in November 2022. In them, 21 persons were killed and 266 persons injured. The number of persons killed was two lower and that of persons injured 77 lower than in November 2021. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to November

A total of 2,833 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to November period of 2022. In them, 179 persons were killed and 3,470 persons injured. The number of persons killed was 25 lower and that of persons injured 88 lower than in the corresponding period of 2021. Of the persons who were killed, 111 travelled by passenger car, two by van, one by moped, 21 by motorcycle and three by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered 21 and cyclists 17. In addition, three other road users were killed.
