Final energy consumption fell in 2020

According to Statistics Finland, final consumption of energy products used by Finns in Finland and abroad fell by eight per cent in 2020 from the previous year. Energy consumption totalled 1.15 million terajoules. The fall was biggest in transportation and storage, where consumption decreased by 30 per cent. Energy use in manufacturing fell by five per cent from the previous year. Households' energy consumption was also six per cent down on the year before.
