Altogether 235 bankruptcies were instigated in May 2023

According to Statistics Finland, 235 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in May 2023, which is 34 fewer than in the corresponding period one year earlier. The number of staff-years in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy totalled 947, which is 121 staff-years fewer than in May 2022.

  • In May 2023, most bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in the industries of construction and other service activities. In the industry of other service activities, 73 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated, and in construction 57 bankruptcies.
