Non-subsidised rents increased in April to June 2023

According to Statistics Finland, rents of non-subsidised dwellings increased by 0.5 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 1.8 per cent in a year in the rest of Finland in April to June 2023. The rents of non-subsidised rental dwellings rose most in Oulu (2.5 %), Hämeenlinna (2.4 %) and Tampere (2.1 %) and least in Espoo (0.4 %), Helsinki (0.4 %) and Rauma (0.6%).

The development of rents in non-subsidised rental dwellings

Key selections

Rents in non-subsidised dwellings have risen most from the previous year in one-room flats in Rovaniemi by 2.3 per cent, in two-room flats in Oulu by 2.6 per cent and in family dwellings in Hämeenlinna by 3.3 per cent.
Rents of non-subsidised one-room flats increased by 0.3 per cent in Greater Helsinki. Rents of one-room flats went up by 1.6 per cent in the rest of Finland.
Rents of government-subsidised dwellings went up by 2.6 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 2.9 per cent in the rest of the country in a year.
The highest average rent per square metre in postal code areas was found in Katajanokka in Helsinki (00160). The average rent per square metre did not exceed EUR 30 in any postal code area.
