Industrial output fell in July 2023 from one year back but grew from the previous month
Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) grew by 1.2 per cent in July from the month before. According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days fell by 1.0 per cent compared to July 2022.

Adjusted for working days, industrial output (C) declined by 3.0 per cent in July from one year earlier. Seasonally adjusted output grew by 0.8 per cent from the month before.
Industrial output grew from the previous month in several of the examined main industries. Compared to June, most growth was recorded in mining and quarrying, 9.6 per cent, in the electrical and electronics industry, 6.5 per cent, and in the metal industry, 4.4 per cent. Output declined again most in the forest industry, where the fall amounted to 6.8 per cent compared to the previous month. Output in the food industry fell by 3.3 per cent from the month before.
Compared to one year ago, output grew most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 16.8 per cent, and in the electrical and electronics industry, by 10.0 per cent. By contrast, the fall was brisk in the forest industry, where output decreased by 29.2 per cent from July 2022. Output was also lower than in the previous year in mining and quarrying, 12.6 per cent, in the chemical industry, 6.3 per cent, and in the food industry, 5.9 per cent.
