The volume change of GDP for 2022 remained on level with the previous round. The current account deficit became revised to EUR 6.8 billion (EUR 9.8 billion in the previous round). The revision of the current account was based on data on primary income from the rest of the world.

The volume of GDP grew 1.6 per cent

The volume of GDP grew by 1.6 per cent. The year 2022 was deviating in terms of price rises. An equally high rise in the prices of output and intermediate consumption was last seen at the beginning of the 1980s. The release text for June contains a more comprehensive description of the data for 2022.

We will also reintroduce the table package combining national accounts data that was discontinued in 2019. The table package is available in PDF/A format in Finnish and English. The table package is updated in connection with each annual national accounts release.

The September data include annual data collection for the statistics on balance of payments and primary income from the rest of the world was updated from the preliminary round in the summer. The current account deficit became revised to EUR 6.8 billion (EUR 9.8 billion in the previous round). The bigger revision of the current account than usual is caused by several items related to prices, as a result of which both property income and property expenditure from the rest of the world have become revised.

In connection with the September release, we have also updated the database tables of quarterly national accounts.
