Especially transport taxes fell, as their accrual was 10.5 per cent lower than one year earlier. By contrast, the accrual of energy taxes grew by 1.7 per cent from the year before as energy consumption returned to the level prior to the pandemic.

- The accrual of transport taxes fell by EUR 200 million, especially taxes paid by households, services and transport industries decreased.
- As energy consumption rose, the accrual of energy taxes grew by 1.7 per cent from the previous year to EUR 4.7 billion. The growth was visible in the energy taxes paid by households, manufacturing and energy supply.
- Of environmental taxes, EUR 4.7 billion were energy taxes, EUR 1.7 billion transport taxes, EUR 21 million emission taxes and EUR 27 million resource taxes.
- Energy taxes made up the majority of environmental taxes, 73 per cent. Environmental taxes were paid most by households, the share of which was around one-half of all environmental taxes, and by service and transport industries.
