Turnover in industry decreased by 5.2 per cent in April 2023

Turnover decreased in several main industries in April

Turnover decreased most in the chemical industry in April and was 19.5 per cent lower than one year earlier. Turnover in the metal industry decreased by 6.9 per cent and in the forest industry by 4.1 per cent from one year ago. Turnover increased most in the food industry, by 9.2 per cent year-on-year.

Export turnover decreased in all main industries in April

Export turnover declined in all main industries in April. Export turnover decreased most in the chemical industry, by 30.3 per cent, and in mining and quarrying, by 25.3 per cent from one year ago. Export turnover decreased by 8.5 per cent in the metal industry and by 7.8 per cent in the forest industry.

Domestic turnover increased in April in nearly all main industries. The growth was strongest in the electrical and electronics industry, up by 11.7 per cent, and in mining and quarrying, up by 8.4 per cent from one year back. In the forest industry, domestic turnover grew by 3.7 per cent and in the metal industry by 2.7 per cent. Domestic turnover decreased year-on-year only in the textile industry and was 0.4 per cent lower than one year earlier.

Turnover decreased in April from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry decreased by 3.0 per cent in April 2023 compared to March. In March, turnover grew by 2.1 per cent, while in February it was 1.7 per cent lower than in the previous month.
