According to Statistics Finland, households' financial assets amounted to EUR 374.6 billion at the end of 2022. Financial assets fell by EUR 15.4 billion during the year. Households’ debts remained almost on level with the previous year, at EUR 201 billion.

Households’ financial assets started to decrease in 2022

Households’ financial assets fell by EUR 15.4 billion during 2022 and decreased to EUR 374.6 billion. Holding losses amounted to EUR 20.4 billion, while households’ net investments in financial assets were EUR 6.1 billion. Households’ debts remained almost unchanged from the previous year and fell by EUR 0.01 billion. Households’ debts were EUR 201.2 billion at the end of the year. The difference between financial assets and liabilities was EUR 173.4 billion. Net financial assets fell by EUR 15.4 billion during the year.
