Altogether 132 business restructuring proceedings were filed in the last quarter of 2023

According to Statistics Finland’s data, 132 enterprise restructuring proceedings were filed in the last quarter of 2023, which is 39 per cent more than in the last quarter of 2022. The number of staff-years in enterprises for which a petition for restructuring had been filed was 1,104, which is 42 per cent more than in the year before.

  • In 2023, a total of 448 enterprises filed a petition for restructuring, which is 32 per cent more than one year earlier.
  • In 2023, the number of staff-years in enterprises for which a petition for restructuring has been filed was 4,626, which is 70 per cent more than one year earlier.
  • The number of enterprise restructuring proceedings was still at a clearly lower level in 2023 than during the financial crisis 2009, when the total number of enterprise restructuring proceedings was 528.
