According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, Finland's population was 5,616,514 at the end of June 2024. During January–June Finland's population increased by 12,663 persons. The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad: the number of immigrants was 21,196 higher than that of emigrants. The number of births was 6,907 lower than that of deaths.
