According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, Finland's population at the end of September 2024 was 5,628,931. During January–September Finland's population increased by 25,080 persons. The reason for the population increase was migration gain from abroad: the number of immigrants was 37,326 higher than that of emigrants. The number of births was 9,789 lower than that of deaths.
