Industrial output decreased month-on-month in August 2024 but increased year-on-year
Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) decreased by 0.9 per cent in August from the month before. According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days went up by 2.6 per cent compared to one year ago.

Output grew in several main industries in August
Adjusted for working days, industrial output (C) grew by 3.0 per cent in August 2024 from one year earlier. Output decreased by 0.5 per cent from the previous month.
Among the main industries examined in the chart, industrial output grew in August most in mining and quarrying, by 14.7 per cent from the month before. Growth from July was also recorded in the forest industry (2.1%), the food industry (1.1%) and the metal industry (0.6%). Output decreased most from the previous month in the chemical industry (-9.8%) and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-7.0%). Output in the electrical and electronics industry decreased by 1.2 per cent from July.
