Number of domestic leisure trips grew by one tenth in June 2024
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, around 2.8 million domestic leisure trips with overnight stay were made in June 2024, which is one tenth more than a year earlier. The number of leisure trips abroad fell from the previous year and was around 0.7 million in June 2024.

- Domestic leisure trips with both paid and free accommodation increased by around one tenth in June. The duration of trips was slightly shorter than in the previous year.
- The number of overnight stays during domestic leisure trips remained on level with the previous year and was around 9.7 million in June 2024.
- The number of leisure trips abroad with overnight stay in the destination country was around 0.5 million, which is 15 per cent lower than one year earlier. The number of overnight stays related to travel also decreased equally much.
- The share of package tours went down from the previous year. One in five of the leisure trips with overnight stay in the destination country were package tours, while this was the case for one in four trips one year earlier.
