Environmental subsidies for energy supply decreased considerably in 2022
According to Statistics Finland, environmental subsidies paid by the public sector was EUR 478 million in 2022, which was EUR 173 million lower than one year earlier. The fall was mainly seen in energy supply, where the received subsidies on production of renewable energy plummeted compared to the previous years as a result of the high market price of electricity.
