A total of 1.6 million passengers flew through Finnish airports in November 2024

Nearly a quarter of air passengers travelled on domestic flights

In November 2024, a total of 1.3 million passengers flew through Helsinki Airport and altogether 280,000 passengers flew through other domestic airports. Compared to November 2023, the total number of passengers was 11 per cent higher at Helsinki Airport and 12 per cent higher at other domestic airports.

Seventy-seven per cent of the air traffic passengers travelled on international flights and 23 per cent on domestic flights in November 2024. The share of passengers on international flights was 86 per cent at Helsinki Airport and 35 per cent in total at other domestic airports. Of all passengers, 97 per cent travelled on scheduled flights.

In November 2024, air freight and mail transport totalled 15,770 tonnes. In all, nearly 100 per cent of the tonnes were transported through Helsinki Airport and 99 per cent in traffic between Finland and foreign countries. Altogether 7,208 tonnes (46 %) of the transported volume of goods were incoming and 8,563 tonnes (54 %) were outgoing.

During January to November in 2024, a total of eighteen million passengers flew through Finnish airports, which was 7 per cent more than in the same period in 2023. From the beginning of 2024, the volume of freight and mail transport totalled 169,000 tonnes, which was 6 per cent more than in January to November 2023.
