The election result did not change in the control calculation. The Social Democratic Party was the biggest party in the Municipal elections with 23.1 per cent of all votes cast. Detailed election results can be found in Statistics Finland’s StatFin database.

Voting turnout fell from the previous Municipal elections
Voting turnout was 54.3 per cent and fell by 0.8 percentage points from the previous Municipal elections. Voting turnout in Municipal elections has fallen since the 2017 elections. Once again, women voted more actively than men, women's voting percentage was 57.3 per cent, which is 6.2 percentage points higher than men’s.
The popularity of advance voting fell in the Municipal elections 2025. Of those who voted, 52.4 per cent cast their votes in advance, which is 7.6 percentage points lower than in the previous elections. The previous municipal elections were held during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, which in part could have increased the popularity of advance voting.
Many invalid ballots
A total of 39,188 ballots were found invalid in the elections, which is 27,681 votes more than in the previous Municipal elections. The most common reason for invalidity is the unclearly written number of the candidate, in 59.0 per cent of invalid ballots. Empty ballot papers constitute 12.1 per cent of invalid ballots.
The holding of two elections at the same time could have contributed to the increase in the number of invalid ballots. In the constituency of Helsinki, where County elections were not held, the number of invalid ballots increased by only 8.4 per cent from the previous Municipal elections.
