The Consumer Confidence Survey measures consumers' confidence in their own and Finland's economy. In addition, consumers' intentions of making large purchases, saving and raising loans are examined.
Similar matters are surveyed each month in all EU countries.
The same respondents are included in the inquiry two times.
The results of the survey produce statistics that are available to all of us – and support decisions affecting society.

The participants in the Consumer Confidence Survey have been selected at random from the Finnish population aged 18 to 74. Around 13,000 persons are invited to the survey annually. One person selected to the survey represents roughly 4,000 other persons resident in Finland. The survey is a panel survey in which each respondent takes part in two separate times within around six months.
We ask about everyday matters related to the economy, such as your intentions of making small or larger purchases, saving or taking out a loan.
We are interested in your experiences and opinions because you represent your area and age group in the survey. We want to ensure that all population groups are heard in the survey.
If you respond online, you will get a link at the end of the survey. Through the link you can learn more from data collected by Statistics Finland concerning your area of residence.
The Consumer Confidence Survey asks questions about the respondent's views and expectations concerning the economy and everyday issues concerning the personal economy, which are easy to answer.
The survey does not test the respondent's knowledge but collects information about persons' (consumers') views, expectations and plans about the economy, for example, views about economic development in Finland or possible plans to buy a dwelling. The survey is easy and you do not need to be afraid of giving wrong answers: the questions concern things that we can only collect data on by asking you and where you are the best and only expert.
A group of people of different ages living in different areas in Finland have been selected for the survey. You have been selected to represent people of your age living in your area. The selection has been made with statistical methods. The responses provide reliable statistical data on people living in Finland and their life situations.
