Statistics Finland collects information about education completed elsewhere than in Finland. At the moment, we do not know how much and what type of education people living in Finland have completed abroad. For this reason, we ask about it now with this inquiry.
The survey is available in 22 different languages (Finnish, Swedish, English, Albanian, Arabic, Chinese, Estonian, Farsi, French, German, Italian, Kurdish, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog ,Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian or Vietnamese). The inquiry is short and easy to answer.

Data collection concerning qualification data for the population with foreign background born abroad. The data collection is aimed at persons for whom there is no qualification data in the Register of Completed Education and Degrees and who have not participated in education leading to a qualification in Finland.
We ask how much you have studied and what qualifications you have passed. What had you studied before you came to Finland? If you do not have any education, please tell us that as well.
When planning services to support employment of immigrants, it is vital to know what kind of education people having moved here have. Your answer will help us better understand what types of services or training supply would most benefit immigrants.
Statistics Finland is a central government authority, whose function is to collect and maintain data files on society. Statistics Finland will not release your personal data to outsiders or other authorities.
Your responses are confidential. We never release your responses for administrative decision-making, investigation, surveillance, legal proceedings or similar purposes, such as to the Tax Administration or the Social Insurance Institution of Finland.
We never hand over or sell your contact information outside Statistics Finland.
The contact details of individual respondents are the address, email and telephone number. The data derive from the Population Information System and from those authorities from which data are obtained based on the Statistics Act.
All data collected for statistical purposes are confidential. When processing data, it is seen to that no person's privacy or business or professional secret are endangered. Every person employed by Statistics Finland has signed a pledge of secrecy.
