Purchase prices of the means of agricultural production rose by 30 per cent in the third quarter of 2022
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, the purchase prices of the means of agricultural production rose by 30 per cent in the third quarter of 2022. Agricultural production commodities and services cost 38 per cent more and investments 11 per cent more than one year ago. The reason behind the rise in prices is the normalisation of demand after the pandemic and the energy crisis caused by the Russian aggressive war. The rise in prices faced by farmers is clearly higher than the general inflation, which was close on eight per cent in the third quarter of 2022.
