Turnover in service industries grew by 15.6 per cent and volume by 5.5 per cent in September 2022

Turnover growing in main service industries

Among the main service industries, turnover grew most in accommodation and food service activities in September 2022. Working day adjusted turnover in the industry rose by 31.4 per cent from September one year ago while volume grew by 19.9 per cent over the same period. In transportation and storage, working day adjusted turnover grew by 26.2 per cent from September 2021 and volume was falling by 6.7 per cent over the same period.

The industry of arts, entertainment and recreation also reached stronger development than turnover in the entire service industry with its 19.0 per cent growth from September 2021.

In September 2022, working day adjusted turnover in administrative and support service activities grew by 15.5 per cent and volume by 10.7 per cent from one year back. Development was also favourable in professional, scientific and technical activities. The working day adjusted turnover of the industry grew by 10.2 per cent and volume by 7.9 per cent from September 2021.

In information and communication activities, working day adjusted turnover grew by 9.7 per cent in September 2022 while the volume of the industry grew by 6.4 per cent over the same period. In September 2022, working day adjusted turnover in other service activities increased by 8.3 per cent year-on-year. The working day adjusted turnover of real estate activities rose by 8.0 per cent and volume by 5.8 from September 2021.

Turnover and output grew from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in service industries rose by 0.4 per cent in September 2022 compared with August. The output of services, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, grew by 0.1 per cent over the same period. In August of 2022, turnover grew by 1.2 per cent from July, while volume grew by 1.4 per cent.
