release

According to Statistics Finland, domestic extraction, or materials extracted from domestic nature, decreased by 1.2 per cent in 2021 from the previous year. They amounted to nearly 240 million tonnes. In relative terms, the use of peat diminished most, as the domestic extraction of peat went down by 40 per cent. The extraction of industrial raw timber increased. Domestic material consumption that takes imports and exports into account decreased primarily due to the decreased consumption of fossil energy materials.
