Road traffic accidents claimed 16 lives in June 2023
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 304 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in June 2023. In them, 16 persons were killed and 369 persons injured. The number of persons killed was two higher and that of persons injured 27 lower than in June 2022. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to June
A total of 1,254 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to June period of 2023. In them, 69 persons were killed and 1,555 persons injured. The number of persons killed was six lower and that of persons injured 96 lower than in the corresponding period of 2022. Of the persons who were killed, 35 travelled by passenger car, eight by van and eight by motorcycle. Pedestrians killed numbered 10 and cyclists three. In addition, five other road users were killed.
