Prices of cereals and oil plants decreased significantly during the second quarter of 2023

Statistics Finland reports that producer prices of agricultural products increased by one per cent during the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous year’s corresponding period. Prices of meat and animal products increased by 12%. Prices of plant products, on the other hand, decreased by 16%. The drastic decrease in the prices of cereals and oil plants had the biggest impact on the index development. Although the prices of almost all other agricultural products increased from the previous year, the index remained barely positive.
