Cubic volume covered by granted building permits grew in three regions

In May to July 2023, the cubic volume of building permits granted for newbuilding was highest in Uusimaa, Southwest Finland and Pirkanmaa. Of the regions, more permits in cubic volumes were granted for South Savo, South Ostrobothnia and Southwest Finland than one year earlier.

Measured by cubic volume, most building projects were completed in Uusimaa, Pirkanmaa and North Ostrobothnia between May to July 2023. The highest growth was seen in construction projects completed in Lapland, Central Ostrobothnia and Kanta-Häme.

On the level of the whole country, a total of 10,435 new dwellings were completed in building projects. Among the regions, most dwellings were completed in Uusimaa, 4,695. The growth in the number of completed building projects was biggest in the regions of Kymenlaakso, South Karelia and South Savo compared to one year ago.
