Turnover in industry grew by 5.3 per cent in March 2023

Turnover decreased in several main industries in March

Turnover decreased most in March in mining and quarrying and was 10.1 per cent lower than one year earlier. Turnover in the forest industry decreased by 2.7 per cent and in the metal industry turnover grew by 3.9 per cent from one year ago. Turnover grew most strongly in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 30.4 per cent from one year ago.

Export turnover increased in several main industries in March

Export turnover grew most in March in the food industry and was 8.1 per cent higher than one year earlier. In the metal industry, export turnover grew by 5.1 per cent and in the forest industry export turnover decreased by 9.1 per cent from one year ago. Export turnover decreased most in mining and quarrying, by 22.8 per cent from one year ago.

Domestic turnover increased in March most in the food industry, by 15.0 per cent from one year ago. Domestic turnover in the forest industry increased by 11.0 per cent. Domestic turnover in the metal industry remained almost on level with the previous year. Domestic turnover decreased most in the textile industry and was 9.7 per cent lower than one year earlier.

Turnover grew in March from the month before

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry increased by 2.7 per cent in March 2023 compared to February. In February, turnover decreased by 1.4 per cent and in January by 2.1 per cent from the month before.
