Turnover in industry decreased by 13.6 per cent in July 2023

Turnover decreased in several main industries in July

Turnover decreased in July most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 30.1 per cent, and in the chemical industry, by 28.7 per cent from one year back. Turnover went down by 24.6 per cent in the forest industry and by 1.5 per cent in the metal industry. Turnover grew most in the electronic and electrical industry and was 13.1 per cent higher than one year earlier.

Export turnover and domestic turnover decreased most in the chemical industry in July

Export turnover decreased in several main industries in July. Export turnover declined most in the chemical industry, by 29.9 per cent, and in the forest industry, 28.7 per cent from one year ago. Export turnover grew most in the industry of mining and quarrying, by 20.9 per cent from one year ago. Export turnover in the metal industry was 4.1 per cent higher in July than one year previously.

Domestic turnover decreased in nearly all main industries in July. Domestic turnover decreased most in the chemical industry and was 26.0 per cent lower than one year earlier. Domestic turnover went down by 14.7 per cent in the forest industry and by 9.8 per cent in the metal industry. Domestic turnover increased only in the food industry, by 4.9 per cent from one year ago.

Turnover grew in July slightly from the month before

Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry increased by 0.3 per cent in July 2023 compared to June. In June, turnover went down by 2.4 per cent, while in May it was 0.9 per cent lower than in the previous month.
