Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 34 per cent in July 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0,4 million tonnes in July 2023. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 34 per cent compared to July 2022. In July 2023 domestic water transport took place almost only in coastal waterways.

Oil products and timber were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in July

Oil products were transported most, in total 216,716 tonnes, which was 62 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was timber, 53,333 tonnes, which was 15 per cent of all transport.
