Households' loan stock increased moderately in the first quarter of 2023

According to Statistics Finland, households’ loan debts increased in the first quarter of 2023 by EUR 0.2 billion from the previous quarter. Households' indebtedness ratio decreased by 1.6 percentage points. At the end of the first quarter of 2023, general government's net financial assets, i.e., the difference between assets and liabilities, amounted to EUR 163.4 billion. General government’s net financial assets went up by EUR 1.7 billion in total from the previous quarter.

The local government sector has been divided into sub-sectors S13131 Local government excl. wellbeing services county administration and S13132 Wellbeing services county administration on 1 January 2023. Local government data for 2023 may become more revised than usual.
