Road traffic accidents claimed 6 lives in March 2024
According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 126 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in March 2024. In them, 6 persons were killed and 176 persons injured. The number of fatalities was eight lower and number of persons injured 28 lower than in March 2023. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Road traffic accidents in January to March
A total of 429 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in the January to March period of 2024 according to preliminary data. In them, 33 persons were killed and 553 persons injured. The number of deaths was four higher and number of persons injured 81 lower than in the corresponding period of 2023. Of the persons who were killed, 19 travelled by passenger car, three by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered five and cyclists one. In addition, four other road users were killed.
