Volume of transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 27 per cent in February 2024
According to Statistics Finland’s preliminary data, the total volume of goods transported in domestic waterborne traffic was 0.2 million tonnes in February 2024. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 27 per cent compared to February 2023. In February 2024, domestic water transport took place in coastal waterways.

Oil products were transported most, in total 142,989 million, which was 72 per cent of all transport. Crude minerals and cement were transported next most, 18,456 tonnes, making up 9 per cent of all transport. Preliminary data on timber transport are supplemented at the end of the statistical reference year.
