Output of the national economy decreased in March 2024

According to Statistics Finland, output adjusted for working days decreased in March 2024 by 0.8 per cent from one year ago. Seasonally adjusted output decreased by 1.0 per cent in March from the month before. Working day adjusted primary production grew by 4.4 per cent, secondary production fell by 7.5 per cent and services grew by 1.9 per cent from March 2023.

Seasonally adjusted output fell in March 2024 by 1.0 per cent from February.
Seasonally adjusted GDP is estimated to have grown in the first quarter of 2024 by around 0.5 per cent from the previous quarter.
The number of employed persons is estimated to have grown by 0.7 per cent from the previous quarter.
The number of hours worked is estimated to have increased by 1.2 per cent from the quarter before.
