According to Statistics Finland, 53.6 per cent of households were satisfied and 37.5 per cent were very satisfied with their dwelling in 2023. Altogether 8.8 per cent of households were dissatisfied, either fairly or very dissatisfied.


Key selections

  • Under 35-year-old one-person households and single-supporter family households were most commonly fairly or very dissatisfied with their dwelling.
  • Altogether 19 per cent of the households experienced problems with dampness, insufficient daylight in the dwelling or living was overcrowded. 
  • In all, 35 per cent of households had problems related to the living environment: noise from neighbours or from outside, pollution, vandalism or crime.
  • The data are from 2023. They are based on responses from households except for the data on overcrowding.
