Turnover in trade fell by 4.9 per cent in April 2024

Turnover in motor vehicle trade declining

Among the industries of trade, working day adjusted turnover in motor vehicle trade decreased by 6.2 per cent in April year-on-year. The working day adjusted volume of sales in motor vehicle trade fell by 6.0 per cent from April 2023.

Working day adjusted turnover in the trade industry with the biggest turnover, wholesale trade, decreased in April by 5,9 per cent and sales volume by 7.0 per cent year-on-year.

In retail trade, working day adjusted turnover went down by 2.4 per cent and sales volume by 2.2 per cent in April.

Seasonally adjusted turnover decreased  compared to March

Seasonally adjusted turnover in total trade fell in April by 0.9 per cent compared to March. Seasonally adjusted sales volume went down by 1.0 per cent. In March, seasonally adjusted turnover decreased by 0.5 per cent and sales volume by 0.3 per cent from one month ago.
