Median for earnings in local government sector 3,313 euro per month in 2023

According to Statistics Finland, the median earnings for regular hours worked of full-time monthly paid wage and salary earners earning full pay working in the local government sector were EUR 3,313 per month in 2023. The earnings were EUR 3,306 in municipalities and joint municipal authorities and EUR 3,319 in wellbeing services counties and joint county authorities for wellbeing services. Wage and salary earners with main employment relationships numbered 232,000 in municipalities and joint municipal authorities and 210,000 in wellbeing services counties and joint county authorities or wellbeing services.

  • The median earnings for regular working hours were EUR 3,306 per month in municipalities and joint municipal authorities in 2023. The regular earnings of women were 3,194 and those of men 3,754.
  • The median earnings for regular working hours were EUR 3,319 per month in wellbeing services counties and joint county authorities for wellbeing services in 2023. The regular earnings of women were 3,283 and those of men 3,629.
  • Women's share of wage and salary earners was 78 per cent in municipalities and joint municipal authorities and 85 per cent in wellbeing services counties and joint county authorities for wellbeing services.
