Rail freight traffic increased by 46 per cent in the first quarter of 2025

According to Statistics Finland, 20.7 million trips were made in railway passenger transport in the first quarter of 2025, which is the same amount as in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. A total of 8.2 million tonnes of goods were transported in freight transport, which is 46 % more than in the corresponding quarter of 2024.
