Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 0.1 per cent in August 2025 year-on-year
According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products rose by an average of 0.1 per cent from August 2024 to August 2025. The producer prices of manufactured products sold on the domestic market rose by 2.2 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went down by 2.3 per cent.

Key product groups behind the index changes
Producer prices for manufactured products went up by an average of 0.1 per cent from a year ago. The rise in the producer prices was particularly caused by higher prices of electricity and food products compared with last year's August. The increase in prices was curbed especially by the decrease in prices of pulp and refined petroleum products from a year ago.
The export price index went down by 2.3 per cent in a year. The fall in export prices was especially due to lower prices of pulp, and basic iron and steel and ferro-alloys compared with last year’s August. The fall in export prices was curbed especially by the increase in prices of precious metals.
The import price index went down by 1.8 per cent in a year. The decrease in import prices was, in turn, especially caused by lower prices of crude petroleum and basic metals compared with last year’s August. The fall in prices was curbed especially by the increase in prices of food products and other chemical products.
The basic price index for domestic supply fell by 0.5 per cent and the basic price index for domestic supply including taxes went up by 0.6 per cent from a year ago.
From July to August, producer prices for manufactured products went up by 0.8 per cent. The increase in producer prices was particularly caused by the higher prices of electricity compared with the previous month. The rise in prices was curbed especially by the decrease in prices of paper and paper products and refined petroleum products compared with the previous month.
