Information about the change
The statistics on enterprises’ research and development activities are published
based on enterprise units starting from 2022. According to Statistics Finland’s
definition, an enterprise is a unit with decision-making autonomy, which
produces goods and/or services to be sold on the market. An enterprise may
comprise one or more legal units. In addition, the statistics still contain
some group level units. Due to the minor effect of the change it does not cause
a break in the time series. The change concerns only the enterprise sector.
Previously, the units were legal unit and group.
