Annual national accounts: Changes in the publication of statistics

The publication of the statistics on annual national accounts, quarterly national accounts and quarterly sector accounts will be reviewed during 2026. However, there will be no changes to the coverage of database tables or to the release schedules of quarterly national accounts.
There will be two main changes. As the first change, the release of annual national accounts in February will be discontinued in 2026. The data of quarterly national accounts for the statistical reference year 2025 will be released as usual in February, and preliminary annual national accounts data for 2025 will be released as before. Only the compilation of revised annual data (statistical reference year 2024) will be postponed to summer. This change is permanent, and it is based on needs to increase efficiency.
The second change is related to combining statistics. The statistics on annual national accounts, quarterly national accounts and quarterly sector accounts will be discontinued in May 2026. The database tables of the above-mentioned statistics remain unchanged, but they will be included in connection with the current statistics on quarterly national accounts. At the same time, the name of the new statistics is changed into national accounts.
