The statistics on subject choices of students contain data on the subject choices in comprehensive school and upper secondary education. The data are mainly obtained from the KOSKI database and they are produced annually.

According to Statistics Finland, nearly all students attending general upper secondary education in autumn 2021 studied English. Ninety-three per cent of vocational education students studied English. Ninety-one per cent of students in general upper secondary education and 89 per cent of students in vocational education studied Swedish in 2021.
