A total of 21,800 polytechnic degrees were attained in 2008

According to Statistics Finland, a total of 21,800 polytechnic degrees were attained in Finland in 2008. This is 4 per cent more than in the year before. The numbers of degrees were highest in the fields of welfare, health and physical exercise as well as in technology and transport. The proportion of women of polytechnic degrees was 64 per cent. Higher polytechnic degrees were obtained by 680 students, of whom 67 per cent were women.
